Virginia To Become First State To Enforce Workplace Safety Standards On COVID-19
Workers should not have to sacrifice their health and safety to earn a living…especially not during a pandemic. Those are the words of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam on Wednesday afternoon. The Governor says due to the absence of federal action, Virginia has just become the first state in the nation to adopt enforceable workplace safety standards for COVID-19. These comments come one day after the Governor asked to review parts of Northern Virginia’s COVID-19 plans and also said he has instructed the Virginia Health Department to begin enforcing COVID-19 safety standards including wearing a mask. – Electric 94.9 News Room
