Lane closures and detours on West State of Franklin Road this week

Johnson City Public Works says lane closures and detours will be in effect this week on West State of Franklin Road. Crews are installing new sewer lines as part of the West Walnut Redevelopment Project, and traffic will be impacted all week. City officials say affected areas are between Sevier and Commerce Streets, as well as Buffalo Street. Lane closures in both directions are in place 24 hours a day for the duration of this project, and the center turn lane is closed. Drivers who cannot avoid this area should expect delays and minor detours. Work is expected to be completed by Friday.
