Sixteen Million Dollar SWVA Initiative To Address Affordable Child Care Problem
Affordable child care has always been a barrier for keeping young, talented employees here in our region. READY SWVA, is a new 16 million dollar initiative aimed at address the problem. United Way of Southwest Virginia is assisting to get the once in a life time opportunity for SWVA residents off the ground, which was brought into focus by the Pandemic.
Travis Staton, with United Way of SWVA says the project involves a partnership with business, education and government. Staton says continuing work with State and Federal officials is the next step for the 16 million dollar, three year project.
