FEMA Disaster Recovery Center now open in Smyth County
The Federal Emergency Management Agency will open a Disaster Recovery Center in Smyth County on Thursday. The center will be at the Smyth County Public Safety Administration Building, located at 230 S. Park Street in Marion. Hours will be Mondays-Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed Sundays. FEMA says more centers will open in the coming weeks in Southwest Virginia. Anyone who needs help is encouraged to seek help. Victims can visit any open Disaster Recovery Center and no appointment is needed. FEMA is eager to provide residents of southwest Virginia with resources, help apply for assistance, and answer questions about their recovery.
