Ballad Health CEO says 63 unvaccinated employees unable to work after Feb. 11 deadline
Ballad Health CEO Alan Levine sent an email to all team members Wednesday morning, giving the latest updates on the company’s COVID vaccine mandate. Levine says February 11th was the deadline for all Ballad employees to be vaccinated with at least one dose. So far, Ballad has approved 1,700 medical or religious vaccine exemptions.
Levine says as of now, 63 out of more than 13 thousand employees have refused the vaccine and have not gotten a medical or religious exemption. He says those individuals are being contacted individually, and will be placed on inactive status for 90 days.
During this time they can choose to receive the vaccine and return to work, or voluntarily resign with eligibility to be rehired after vaccinated. After the 90 day period expires with no activity by the team member, their employment will be involuntarily terminated.
