Johnson County issues mask mandate, set to take effect Thursday
Johnson County has joined six other counties in Northeast TN in issuing a mask mandate.
Mayor Mike Taylor issued the executive order on Tuesday. It requires the wearing of face coverings in public places especially where social distancing cannot be maintained. Those exempt from the order include children under 12, those with underlying health conditions, and places of worship.
The order also does not require businesses and other organizations to supply masks/face coverings.
The order takes effect at 12:01 A.M. on Thursday, and runs through August 3rd. – Electric 94.9 News Room
