Monday is last day for VA residents to request FEMA assistance

The last day for Virginians impacted by Helene to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance is Monday, December 2nd. That includes people in 16 counties and two cities in Southwest Virginia. You can apply by visiting a disaster recovery center, going to disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA app, or by calling 1-800-621-3362. In Tennessee and North Carolina the deadline to apply for assistance is January 7. Any appeals must be filed within 60 days after the date on your FEMA letter.
