New grant will help pedestrian accessibility in Jonesborough
Downtown Jonesborough is set to receive a boost in pedestrian accessibility thanks to a grant exceeding $100,000. Tennessee lawmakers announced the funding, which aims to enhance walkways and ensure the historic town is accessible to everyone. The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development is providing these funds as part of a broader initiative benefiting 18 different communities. In addition to the pedestrian improvements, the department is allocating nearly $5 million to improve structures in downtown areas across the state.
