New report: JC Schools back to pre pandemic academic levels

A new study found that Johnson City Schools is among the few school systems in the country that have returned to pre-pandemic academic levels. According to the Harvard/Stanford study, just over 100 out of 8,700 districts had returned to or exceeded pre-pandemic math and reading levels. Johnson City interim superintendent Greg Wallace says many factors may have caused JCS to return to pre-COVID levels, including the teachers in the school system and identifying gaps when there was no face-to-face support for students.
