Sullivan County officer spoils North Carolina suspect’s robbery attempt

A North Carolina man tried to rob a West State Street convenience store at the same time a Sullivan County corrections officer had stopped for gasoline before heading to work.

The Bristol Tennessee Police Department report said Brandon Scott Lowe, 28, was armed at the Scotchman just after 6 a.m. Monday when the officer came into the store to confront the suspect. The statement said store employees handcuffed Lowe while he was held at gunpoint.

Lowe faces four charges including aggravated burglary.
