UPDATE: Police identify and arrest suspect in Interstate 81 truck stop death

A man accused of running over and killing a truck driver at a travel center in White Pine was arrested after a warrant was issued by the District Attorney’s office.

A report from town police said John Emery, 70, of Chattanooga was identified as a suspect after surveillance footage from the parking lot of Pilot off Interstate 81 was reviewed.

Police said Emery ran over Gary Clark, 64, then parked his rig. After 20 minutes in the retailer, Emery drove off and left the area after other drivers had told him about the incident.
